Girl, Whatever Presents: Deep Red

Continuing the Argento love this month with one of his greatest works, Deep Red sees the giallo master firing on all cylinders as he guides you through a twisted mystery filled with psychic warnings of doom, nefarious interior design, extremely creepy dolls, and some Final Destination level kills, all bathed in his signature lush color palette and set to an absolute banging soundtrack by Goblin.

Deep Red also marks Argento’s first work with frequent collaborator and soon-to-be-wife Daria Nicolodi, starring here as a spunky feminist journalist who teams up with jazz pianist Marcus Daly, played by David Hemmings, to solve a grisly murder witnessed by the latter. And, well, as is the giallo way, nothing is as it seems.

Doors at 6:30pm, show begins at 7:00pm.

I simply can’t argue with the general consensus on this one, it is as good as they say.
