Nearly thirty years after it first drifted through the festival circuit, Marcos E. González's Mohammed's Radio (1996) returns in a brand new director's cut. A genuine Austin original in the tradition of Slacker, the film captures the aimless days and grungy nights of a city that no longer exists, a place full of dead-end jobs, street corner philosophizing, and mid-90s indie malaise with a warmth that only a hometown filmmaker could pull off. Director González will be in attendance for a Q&A following the screening, discussing the film's production and its long road to this definitive new cut.
